Workshop Towards Strengthening Collaborations for SUM Net

This workshop was jointly organized by the Institute of Urban Transport (IUT India) and SUM Net on 13 and 14 February 2012 at Pune. The aim of the workshop was to explore the spaces for collaboration between IUT, SUM Net and other agencies. The discussions and presentations included those on the mandate and work of IUT and areas for NGO collaborations, rapid overviews of issues in urban transportation planning in 6 cities (Patna, Alwar, Bangalore, Delhi, Pune, Indore), a critique of the National Urban Transport Policy, possibility of integration of user participation standards in the standards being developed for the National Mission on Sustainable Habitat etc. A basic agenda for collaboration has been developed, including inputs from SUM Net into training programmes, studies, knowledge management activities of the IUT.
