Used by millions of people in Indian cities, the cycle makes an important contribution to the urban economy. The cycle must be given its due recognition as a key mode of urban transportation, not only in the present day, but also in the future. The National Urban Transportation Policy has set the agenda for support to cycling; yet, much more action is needed on-ground for creation of safe, convenient and practical cycling infrastructure in our cities.
